The
Kalamazoo Regional Chamber Political Action Committee (Chamber
PAC) has endorsed Rep. Tonya Schuitmaker in the Aug. 3
Republican primary race for the 20th District State Senate.
"While
there are three good candidates running for this seat, the Chamber PAC
determined that her length and breadth of
service in the Legislature, consistent voting record on business issues
and
ability to reach across the aisle makes Rep. Schuitmaker the best
Republican
candidate for the 20th District Senate seat," explained Chamber PAC
Chair Brandt Iden.
"I am truly honored to receive the endorsement
of the Chamber PAC for the upcoming August primary,"
said Schuitmaker. "With the support of area job providers and business
leaders
throughout Michigan, my number one priority is
to get Michigan
citizens working again."
During the challenging economic times
Michigan finds itself in, it
is of utmost importance that we elect public servants that understand
the
importance of job creation, regional vision and fiscally responsible
government. We believe that Rep. Schuitmaker has a keen understanding of
these
issues and a plan to address them once in office," said Chamber
President and
CEO Steward Sandstrom, CCE.
The
Kalamazoo Regional Chamber Political Action Committee's mission is to
support
business-friendly candidates at the local and state level through
endorsements
and campaign contributions. PAC monies are generated entirely through
private,
individual contributions. No Chamber dues are used for funding the PAC's
activities.
