Our mission is to help our Chamber members grow and prosper in business. We carry out this mission in several different ways through our membership, the following are a few examples:
Networking Events: The Chamber hosts a myriads of networking events throughout the year that help our 1,800 members connect on a business-to-business level. Some of the events include Business After Hours, Taste of the Chamber, Annual Meeting, Business Expo, Golf Outing and many more! Some events are purely networking and others are organized around an educational component regarding an important issues affecting the business community with a featured speaker/panel/workshop. Click on the link provided above to see some of the upcoming networking events.
Premium Member Benefits: With partnerships with various Chamber members, we are able to offer Premium Member Benefits that help you save on overhead costs such as discounted health insurance, workers compensation insurance, office supplies, payroll processing, and much more. A New Member Guide, updated monthly, is presented to all new Chamber members by one of our Chamber Ambassadors which includes further details on the various member benefits and advantages.
Grassroots Advocacy: There are several ways we help members get engaged with legislative issues that are affecting businesses in the State of Michigan. Advocacy councils are one of the ways you can volunteer to weigh in and stay connected with legislative issues affecting the business community. Some of the councils include environmental issues, taxation, transportation and many more.
Leadership Kalamazoo: The program provides a unique opportunity for a diverse community group from all walks of community life to learn and work together, building 21st century leadership skills and new relationships for the future. The knowledge and skills that they gain will allow them to create positive community change and personally commit to leadership roles in the community.
Chamber Ambassadors: The Chamber Ambassadors serve as liaisons between Chamber members and staff. They gather feedback and answer members’ questions during calls they make throughout the year. Many Ambassadors find their participation in this group to be an invaluable tool for making contacts throughout the Kalamazoo County business community.
Young Professionals: The Kalamazoo Area Young Professionals is a peer networking group between the ages of 21-40 who are growing professionally and want to learn more about what Kalamazoo has to offer. A committee of volunteer young professionals, who understand the challenges of being a young professional and are well connected to the Kalamazoo community, help steer the various events and workshops held throughout the year. This includes cultural events, speaker series featuring CEOs, local sporting events and much more.
